City of Miami File ID: 6749 (Revision:) Printed On: 1/2/2020 GS.,Y OFA +' nein uare� # i" City of Miami Legislation Ordinance Enactment Number: 13882 File Number: 6749 Final Action Date: 12/12/2019 AN ORDINANCE OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, AMENDING CHAPTER 38/ARTICLE I OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, TITLED "PARKS AND RECREATION/IN GENERAL," BY ESTABLISHING A NEW SECTION 38-24, TITLED "NAMING OF CHARLIE DELUCCA PARK," THEREBY NAMING THE PARK LOCATED AT 455 NORTHWEST 47 AVENUE, MIAMI, FLORIDA AS "CHARLIE DELUCCA PARK"; CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Charlie DeLucca ("DeLucca") was a source of inspiration who served as a uniting force of positivity for many individuals in the City of Miami ("City"); and WHEREAS, over fifty (50) years ago, DeLucca started The First Tee Miami ("First Tee") junior golf program run at International Links Miami - Melreese Country Club; and WHEREAS, DeLucca promoted and mentored junior golfers by operating the First Tee program; and WHEREAS, DeLucca was a champion for kids with disabilities that wanted to play golf, some of whom went on to compete in the Special Olympics; and WHEREAS, Delucca used his role as coach and mentor to transform the lives of countless children by exposing them to the game of golf; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Ordinance are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. Chapter 38/Article I of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, is further amended in the following particulars:' "CHAPTER 38 PARKS AND RECREATION ARTICLE I. IN GENERAL ' Words and/or figures stricken through shall be deleted. Underscored words and/or figures shall be added. The remaining provisions are now in effect and remain unchanged. (a) The park located at 455 Northwest 47 Avenue, Miami, Florida, formerly known as Kinloch Park, shall be named "Charlie DeLucca Park". Secs. 38-2-425- 38.45. Reserved. *If Section 3. If any section, part of a section, paragraph, clause, phrase, or word of this Ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining provisions of this Ordinance shall not be affected. Section 4.
