AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION FOR FISCAL YEAR 2019-2020 COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT ("CDBG") FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF
$808,454.10 AND THE AMOUNT OF $123,002.78 FROM PREVIOUS YEAR
PROGRAM INCOME, FOR A TOTAL AMOUNT OF $931,456.88 IN THE PUBLIC
SERVICE CATEGORY, TO THE AGENCIES SPECIFIED IN ATTACHMENT "A",
ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, FOR PUBLIC SERVICE ACTIVITIES BEGINNING
OCTOBER 1, 2019; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE
AND EXECUTE ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE
CITY ATTORNEY, INCLUDING AMENDMENTS, RENEWALS, EXTENSIONS, AND
MODIFICATIONS, AS MAY BE NECESSARY, SUBJECT TO ALL FEDERAL, STATE,
AND LOCAL LAWS THAT REGULATE THE USE OF SUCH FUND, FOR SAID
PURPOSE.
Background of Item:
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD") announced the final
Community Planning and Development Program Formula Allocations for FY2019, as
such, the amount of CDBG funds being recommended.
Pursuant to Resolution No.19-0273, adopted July 11, 2019, the Miami City Commission
approved CDBG Fiscal Year categories, allocating the amount of $808,454.10 and the
amount of $123,002.78 from previous year program income for a total amount of
$931,456.88 in the Public Service category.
The City Administration recommends the allocation for Fiscal Year 2019-2020 CDBG
funds, from HUD entitlement grants funds in the amount of $808,454.10 and the amount
of $123,002.78 from previous year program income in the Public Service category, to
the agencies specified in Attachment "A", attached and incorporated, for Public Service
activities beginning October 1, 2019.

A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION FOR PROGRAM YEAR 2019-2020 COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT ("CDBG") FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF
$808,454.10 AND IN THE AMOUNT OF $123,002.78 FROM PREVIOUS YEAR
PROGRAM INCOME, FOR A TOTAL AMOUNT OF $931,456.88 IN THE PUBLIC
SERVICE CATEGORY, TO THE AGENCIES SPECIFIED IN EXHIBIT "A", ATTACHED
AND INCORPORATED, FOR PUBLIC SERVICE ACTIVITIES BEGINNING OCTOBER
1, 2019; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND
EXECUTE ANY AND ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, INCLUDING AMENDMENTS,
EXTENSIONS, AND MODIFICATIONS, ALL IN FORMS ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY

WHEREAS, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD")
announced the final Community Planning and Development Program Formula Allocations for
Program Year (TY") 2019-2020, as well as the amount of Community Development Block
Grant ("CDBG") funds recommended; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 19-0273 adopted July 11, 2019, the Miami City
Commission approved CDBG PY categories, allocating the amount of $808,454.10 and the
amount of $123,002.78 from previous year program income, for a total amount of $931,456.88
in the Public Service category; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends the allocation for 2019-2020 PY CDBG

amount of $931,456.88, to the agencies specified in Exhibit "A," attached and incorporated, for

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The allocation of PY 2019-2020 CDBG funds in the amount of $808,454.10
and in the amount of $123,002.78 from previous year program income, for a total amount of
$931,456.88 in the Public Service category to the agencies specified in Exhibit "A," attached
and incorporated, for Public Service activities beginning October 1, 2019 is authorized.'
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized' to negotiate and execute any and all
necessary documents, including amendments, extensions, and modifications, all in forms

Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the Mayor.2

2 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
