HomeMy WebLinkAboutPre-LegislationCity of Miami F G-00, City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Legislation Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com KResolution: R-19-0138 File Number: 5559 Final Action Date: 4/11/2019 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF PROGRAM INCOME FROM COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT ("CDBG") FUNDS, GENERATED FROM OCTOBER 1, 2018 TO JANUARY 30, 2019, IN THE AMOUNT OF $820,018.52 TO THE CATEGORIES SPECIFIED IN ATTACHMENT "A," ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE ANY AND ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, ALL IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, TO COMPLETE THE TRANSACTION FOR THE SPECIFIED AMOUNTS, FOR SAID PURPOSE(S). WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Community Development ("Department") receives various types of repayments from loans provided to developers and homeowners, referred to as program income, that are required to be used for eligible program activities; and WHEREAS, from October 1, 2018 to January 30, 2019, the Department collected $820,018.52 in Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG') program income; and WHEREAS, pursuant to CDBG regulations 24 CFR Part 570.504, program income must be used for eligible CDBG activities; and WHEREAS, the Department recommends the allocation of the program income generated from October 1, 2018 to January 30, 2019, in the total amount of $820,018.52 to the activities specified in Attachment "A," attached and incorporated, which are eligible CDBG activities; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The allocation of CDBG program income generated from October 1, 2018 to January 30, 2019, in the amount of $820,018.52 to the categories specified in Attachment "A," attached and incorporated, is authorized.' Section 3. The City Manager is authorized' to negotiate and execute any and all necessary documents, all in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, to complete the transaction for the specified amounts for said purpose(s). ' The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions.
