RE: Nomination for Membership on the Civilian Investigative Panel
Dear Commissioner Carollo:
CRISTINA BEAMUD
Executive Director
The Civilian Investigative Panel met on June 18, 2019 to nominate a candidate for membership. As you
know, Article II, Section 11.5-28 of the City Code requires the CIP Nominating Committee to screen
applications, interview potential candidates and submit such candidates to the City Commission to fill
vacancies. The ordinance requires that the City Commission appoint, by majority vote, "exclusively from
the nominations submitted to it by the Civilian Investigative Panel.
This year, our representative from District 3, Ms. Grace Casas, is termed out of office. Thus, the Panel
recruited the application of Ms. Maithe Gonzalez. I enclose her resume for your consideration. It is my
understanding that an appointment is scheduled for you to meet with her. I am sure you will be
impressed by her credentials. I hope that you will support her appointment to this Panel.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you for your assistance with this matter.
Sincerely,
