WHEREAS: City Code Article II, Section 11.5.28 requires that the City Commissioners approve the appointment of members from a pool of nominees selected and nominated by the CIP. WHEREAS: The CIP nominating committee solicited and screened applications for vacancies in accordance with the requirements of the ordinance governing the nomination of candidates. WHEREAS: The CIP has a vacancy from District 3. WHEREAS: The CIP Nominating Committee met on May 28, 2019 to interview Ms. Gonzalez. WHEREAS: The CIP Nominating Committee interviewed Ms. Gonzalez on May 28, 2019 and voted to recommend her nomination on the same date. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CIVILIAN INVESTIATIVE PANEL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI: That Ms. Maithe Gonzalez be submitted to the City Commission for their appointment to the CIP. The CIP further requests that the nomination of Ms. Gonzalez be placed on the City Commission Agenda pursuant to Article II, section 2-33 of the City of Miami Code.
