A901 • Existing shuttered Playhouse Submitted into the public record for item(s) SPA on 05/08/19. - City Clerk • Restored original 1927 exterior paint color • Restored 1927 crenellated pediments • Restored 1927 storefronts —pedestrian friendly Existing view on Williams Ave Submitted into the public record for item(s) SPA on 05/08/19. - City Clerk View on Williams Ave after project completion In response to the observation that the Playhouse has always "walled off' the West Grove, we are eliminating all barriers between the West Grove and the Playhouse (for example, in the past there was chain link fence and barbed wire at the back of the Playhouse) and we are replacing them with lushly landscaped pedestrian sidewalks and paths, a promenade directly through the project connecting the residential neighborhood to Main High- way, and a pocket park dedicated to serving the residential area. The part of the project that faces the residential neighborhood is all one story and one -and -a -half story structures with facades designed to be consistent with the houses across the street. These sensitively scaled and designed buildings and the accompanying landscaping will contribute to making the residential streets lovely and welcoming (today these homes face the blank back of the auditorium, the fence, and a paved parking lot).
