A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION LIMITING THE USE OF
THE AREA KNOWN AS MAURICE A. FERRE PARK ("PARK") TO ONLY PARK
AND OTHER GREEN SPACE USES FOR THE PLEASURE, RECREATION,
AND EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC, THEREBY PROTECTING THE PARK
FROM ANY COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT; DIRECTING THE CITY
MANAGER TO IMPLEMENT THE POLICY AS STATED HEREIN.
SPONSOR(S): Mayor Francis X. Suarez, Commissioner Ken Russell
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") owns the area known as Maurice A. Ferre Park
("Park") located at approximately 1095 Biscayne Boulevard, Miami, Florida; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to preserve the Park for the pleasure,
recreation, and education of the public and to protect the Park from any potential commercial
development;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The Miami City Commission limits the use of the Park to only park and other
green space uses for the pleasure, recreation, and education of the public thereby protecting
the Park from any commercial development.
Section 3. The City Manager is directed to implement the policy as stated herein.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the Mayor.'

If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
