Hannon References: Agenda for December 13, 2018 City Clerk Enclosures: List of members The Sea Level Rise Committee was created to (1) review any and all available information pertaining to sea level rise; (2) hold public hearings to receive public input; (3) issue a final written report to the City Commission by a date certain to be established by the City Commission; and (4) serve in an advisory capacity to the City Commission and recommend any changes to City policy to help the City better combat the deleterious effects of sea level rise. The Sea Level Rise Committee shall consist of nine (9) voting members. All voting members shall be invested in the City and serve without compensation. At least one (1) member shall possess an expertise in civil engineering. At least one (1) member shall possess an expertise in advocating for vulnerable low-income communities. At least one (1) member shall possess an expertise in community and real estate development. At least one (1) member shall possess expertise in one or more of the following areas: climatology; geophysics; coastal management, oceanography or coastal ocean science. At least one (1) member shall possess expertise in emergency management. At least one (1) member shall possess expertise in economics. Two (2) appointments are needed at this time: • Vice Chair Ken Russell has one (1) nomination for a seat currently held by:1 1. Patrick Rynne, incumbent, whose term expired on July 14, 2018. • City Manager Emilio T. Gonzalez has one (1) nomination for a seat currently held by: 1. Pete Gomez, incumbent, whose term expired on January 11, 2018.2,3 For your convenience, we are including a copy of the membership of the committee.
