AMOUNT OF $4,724,614.02 FOR HOUSING PROGRAMS, FOR PROGRAM YEAR
2018-2019, IN THE CATEGORIES AS SPECIFIED IN ATTACHMENT "A", ATTACHED
AND INCORPORATED, FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ANY AND ALL THE
NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY,
FOR SAID PURPOSE(S).
Background of Item:
On May 1, 2018, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD")
announced the final Community Planning and Development Program Formula
Allocations for Program Year 2018-2019, as such, the amount of HOME funds being
recommended.
The Administration recommends the allocation of HOME funds, in the amount of
$3,545,440, and the amount of $1,179,174.02 from prior year program income, for a
total amount of $4,724,614.02 for Program Year 2018-2019; in the categories as
specified in Attachment "A", attached and incorporated, for the provision of decent and
affordable housing to low income households.

A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
ALLOCATING HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM ("HOME") FUNDS IN
THE AMOUNT OF $3,545,440.00 AND PRIOR YEAR PROGRAM INCOME IN THE
AMOUNT OF $1,179,174.02, FOR A TOTAL AMOUNT OF $4,724,614.02, FOR
AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROGRAMS, FOR PROGRAM YEAR 2018-2019, AS
SPECIFIED IN ATTACHMENT "A," ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE ANY AND ALL
DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, AS MAY BE
NECESSARY FOR SAID PURPOSE(S).
WHEREAS, on May 1, 2018, the United States Department of Housing and Urban

Investment Partnership Program ("HOME") funds being recommended; and
WHEREAS, the Administration recommends the allocation of HOME funds, in the
amount of $3,545,440.00 and prior year program income in the amount of $1,179,174.02, for a
total amount of $4,724,614.02, for Program Year 2018-2019, in the categories as specified in
Attachment "A," attached and incorporated, for the provision of decent and safe affordable
housing, to low income households;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The allocation of HOME funds in the amount of $3,545,440.00 and prior year
program income in the amount of $1,179,174.02, for a total amount of $4,724,614.02, for
affordable housing programs for Program Year 2018-2019, as specified in Attachment "A,"
attached and incorporated, is authorized.'
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized' to negotiate and execute any and all
documents, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, as may be necessary for said purpose(s).
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the Mayor.2
' The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by
the City Attorney, including but not limited to, those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code
provisions.
2 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
