HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-18-0287City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-18-0287 File Number: 4178 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com Final Action Date: 7/12/2018 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF PROGRAM YEAR 2018-2019 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT ("CDBG") FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,259,044.00 IN FISCAL YEAR 2018-2019, AND IN THE AMOUNT OF $150,145.77 IN PUBLIC SERVICE FUNDS, FROM PRIOR YEAR PROGRAM INCOME, FOR A TOTAL AMOUNT OF $5,409,189.77, TO THE ACTIVITIES SPECIFIED IN ATTACHMENT "A," ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2018; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, AS MAY BE NECESSARY TO IMPLEMENT THE ALLOCATION OF SAID FUNDS. WHEREAS, on May 1, 2018, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD") announced the final Community Planning and Development Program Formula Allocations for Program Year 2018-2019, thereby announcing the amount of Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") funds being recommended for disbursement to the City of Miami; and WHEREAS, the Administration recommends allocating said funds to the various activities, as specified in Attachment "A," attached and incorporated, for Program Year 2018- 2019 beginning October 1, 2018; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The allocation of Program Year 2018-2019 CDBG funds, in the amount of $5,259,044.00 in Program Year 2018-2019 and in the amount of $150,145.77 in public service funds from prior year program income, for a total amount of $5,409,189.77, to the activities specified in Attachment "A," attached and incorporated, beginning October 1, 2018, is authorized.' Section 3. The City Manager is authorized' to negotiate and execute any and all documents, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, as may be necessary to implement the allocation of said funds. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.z ' The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to, those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code provisions.
