A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET OF THE
LIBERTY CITY COMMUNITY REVITALIZATION TRUST, ATTACHED AND
INCORPORATED AS EXHIBIT "C," IN THE AMOUNT OF NINE HUNDRED
TWENTY-NINE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($929,000.00) FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
COMMENCING OCTOBER 1, 2017 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2018.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") created and established the Liberty City
Community Revitalization Trust ("Trust") pursuant to Ordinance No. 12859 adopted October 12,
2006; and
WHEREAS, the Trust is responsible for the oversight and facilitation of the City's
revitalization and redevelopment activities in the Liberty City area; and
WHEREAS, Section 12.5-36 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended ("City
Code"), provides that the Trust shall submit a budget to the City Commission for approval, in a
form acceptable to the City Manager; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 17-0434 adopted September 19, 2017, the City
Commission approved the Trust's original annual budget for the fiscal year commencing
October 1, 2017 and September 30, 2018 in the amount of Five Hundred Fourteen Thousand
Dollars ($514,000.00) ("Original Annual Budget", attached and incorporated as Exhibit "A"); and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 18-0019 adopted by the City Commission on
January 11, 2018, attached and incorporated as Exhibit "B", the Trust received unanticipated
revenues from the District 5 share of the City's Anti -Poverty Initiative funds in the total amount of
Four Hundred Thousand Dollars ($400,000.00) to fund its Summer Youth Program,
necessitating the amendment of the Trust's Original Annual Budget; and
WHEREAS, to assist with Hurricane Irma recovery efforts, the Orange Bowl Committee
donated Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000.00) to the Trust to help clean up areas adversely
impacted by the storm in Liberty City and surrounding areas, and said contribution necessitating
another amendment to the Trust's Original Annual Budget; and
WHEREAS, Section 12.5-36(a) of the City Code provides for the Trust to return to the
City Commission for approval of supplements to the Original Annual Budget; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Trust Resolution No. 18-001, the governing body of the Trust
reviewed and approved the Trust's supplemented and amended budget for Fiscal Year 2017-
2018 ("Supplemental Budget", attached and incorporated as Exhibit "C") on February 7, 2018;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:

Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The Trust's Supplemental Budget in the amount of Nine Hundred Twenty -
Nine Thousand Dollars ($929,000.00), attached and incorporated as Exhibit "C," for the Fiscal
Year commencing October 1, 2017 and ending September 30, 2018 is approved and adopted.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the Mayor.'

' If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
