A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION SUPPORTING THE
LIBERTY CITY OPTIMIST CLUB OF FLORIDA, INC., A FLORIDA NOT-FOR-
PROFIT CORPORATION ("OPTIMIST CLUB"), IN ITS CONTINUED USE OF
HADLEY PARK AND IN ITS APPLICATION FOR ADDITIONAL FUNDING WITH
THE CHILDREN'S TRUST.

WHEREAS, the Liberty City Optimist Club of Florida, Inc., a Florida not-for-profit
corporation ("Optimist Club"), has been serving Liberty City and the surrounding communities
since 1990 by providing services designed to increase academic achievement, positive
socialization, fitness and health, and parental involvement, for at -risk youth ("Program"); and
WHEREAS, for approximately twenty-eight (28) years, the Optimist Club has been
utilizing Hadley Park to implement its programming and it is seeking support from the City of
Miami ("City") in its continued use of Hadley Park and its facilities to continue the Program; and
WHEREAS, the City intends to formalize this partnership by authorizing the execution of
a program partnership agreement with the Optimist Club for a term of twenty (20) years at the
next City Commission meeting; and
WHEREAS, the Optimist Club has applied for additional funding with the Children's Trust
and is seeking support from the City in its application for the additional funding;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Commission supports the Optimist Club in its continued use of
Hadley Park and its facilities, as well as, in the Optimist Club's application for funding from the
Children's Trust.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the Mayor.'
' If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
