HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-17-0508City of Miami Legislation Resolution R-17-0508 File Number: 3050 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com Final Action Date: 10/26/2017 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), ACCEPTING GRANT FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,125,000.00 FROM THE STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION FOR THE DESIGN AND CREATION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI'S STORMWATER MASTER PLAN; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A GRANT ACCEPTANCE AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, AND ANY AND ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR SAID PURPOSE. WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") Commission adopted Resolution No. 16-0621 on December 8, 2016 urging Governor Rick Scott and the members of the Florida Legislature to support funding for the City's Stormwater Management Master Plan ("Master Plan") during the 2017 legislative session, which has been a continuing City priority; and WHEREAS, the Florida Legislature approved $1.125 million dollars within the state's budget specifically for the Master Plan ("Grant Funds"); and WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection ("FDEP") requires that the City execute a Grant Acceptance Agreement ("Agreement") in order to receive the Grant Funds; and WHEREAS, it is appropriate for the City Manager to accept Grants Funds in the amount of $1,125,000.00 from the FDEP and to execute the Agreement, in substantially the attached form, to set forth terms and conditions relating to the use of the Grant Funds to designing and creating the Master Plan; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. Grant Funds in the amount of $1,125,000.00 from FDEP for the design and creation of the Master Plan are accepted. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized' to execute an Agreement, in substantially the attached form, and any and all necessary documents, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, for said purpose. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.z 1 The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to, those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code provisions.
