A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION COMPUTING A PROPOSED MILLAGE RATE FOR THE MIAMI DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT" AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA ("DDA"), FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1,. 2012 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2013; DIRECTING THE u EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO SUBMIT SAID PROPOSED MiLLAGE RATE TO THE MIAMI-QADE COUNTY PROPERTY APPRAISER AND THE TAX COLLECTOR 0 TOGETHER WITH THE DATE, TiMIEAND PLACE OF THE PUBLIC HEARING AT WHICH THE CITY COMMISSION WILL CONSIDER THE PROPOSED MILLAGE RATE AND THE DDA'S TENTATIVE BUDGET FOR SAID FISCAL YEAR. WHEREAS, Section 200.065, Florida Statutes (2012) (the "Statute"), sets forth requiremerrts for the "Truth in Millage" ("TRIM") notice and requires each taxing authority to establish a proposed miifage rate; and WHEREAS, the Statute stipulates that said proposed miilage rate be submitted to the Property Appraiser and the Tax Collector; and WHEREAS, Bald rate will reflect the levy necessary to fund the Miami Downtown Development Authority's ("[JDA") tentative budget other than the portion of the budget to be funded from sources other than ad valorem taxes; and WHEREAS, the proposed millage rate submitted to the Property Appraiser is not binding but is necessary for the purpose of preparation of tax notices; NOW, THEREFORE, BE 1T RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Sectlonl, The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and Incorporated as fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The proposed millage rate for the DDA of the City of Miaml, Florida, for the Fiscal Year begtnning October 1, 2012 and ending September 30, 2013, Is 0.478 mills, which is 1258% more than the rolled back rate of 0,4248 mills. Section 3, The Executive Director is hereby directed to submit forthwith said proposed millage rate for the [JDA to the Property Appraiser and to the Tax Collector together with the date, time and plaice at Which the City Commission will hold a public hearing to consider the proposed millage rate. and the DDA% tentative budget for said fiscal year as follows: September 13, 2012 at 5:05 P.M. and September 27, 2012 at 6:05 P.M. in the Commission Chambers at City Hall, 3500 Pan American Drive, Dinner Key, Miami, Florida.
