Background of Item: The City of Miami has 443 units under Section 8 contracts. The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development has advised the City of Miami that the projected allocation for the Section 8 Housing Program for Fiscal Year 2017-2018 is available in the amount of $4,663,200 for rental assistance payments and $436,800 for program administration, for a total projected amount of $5,100,000. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The acceptance of Section 8 Housing Program funds in the projected amount of $4,663,200.00 for rental assistance and in the projected amount of $436,800.00 for program administration, for a total projected amount of $5,100,000.00 for Fiscal Year 2017-2018, is authorized. Section 3. These allocations will be adjusted in direct proportion to the actual allocation of Section 8 funds provided by HUD for Program Year 2017-2018. Section 4. The City Manager is authorized' to execute any and all necessary documents for said purpose. The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code provisions. Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.2 APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS: 1 Un ndez, City Attor iey 6/12/2017 2 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
