Hannon References: Agenda for June 8, 2017 City Clerk Enclosures: List of Members The Miami Sports and Exhibition Authority (MSEA) was created to promote sports, conventions and exhibitions and to strive to generate and further community support to achieve this purpose. The Authority shall endeavor to attract professional sports franchises to utilize facilities in the City. Members of MSEA shall be qualified electors of Miami -Dade County. One member shall be the Mayor who shall be a voting ex -officio member and the chairperson thereof. Two voting members shall be City Commissioners appointed by a majority vote of City Commission to serve for a period of one (1) year. Each City Commissioner shall nominate two members to be ratified by a majority vote of the City Commission. Seven (7) appointments are required at this time: Chair Keon Hardemon has two (2) nominations for seats currently held by: 1. Davie Madison, incumbent, whose term expired on April 9, 2016, has exceeded the number of allowed absences (4 in 2016), and the number of allowed consecutive absences (3 in 2016), and will require a 4/5ths waiver of attendance. 2. Vacant.2 Vice Chair Ken Russell has two (2) nominations for seats currently held by: 1. Jay Solowsky, incumbent, whose term expired on March 14, 2014.3 2. Frank Veloso, incumbent, whose term expired on December 15, 2012.6 Commission -At -Large has one (1) nomination for a seat currently held by: 1. Keon Hardemon, incumbent, whose term expired on February 12, 2016, has exceeded the number of allowed absences (4 in 2015), and the number of allowed consecutive absences (3 in 2015), and will require a 4/5ths waiver of attendance.7 For your convenience, we are including a copy of the current membership of said authority.
