Ms. Lynn Lewis offered the following resolution and moved its adoption:
A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI HISTORIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL PRESERVATION
BOARD APPROVING, WITH CONDITIONS, AS AMENDED, (EXHIBIT "A") A SPECIAL
CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS FOR THE RENOVATION OF A CONTRIBUTING
STRUCTURE, DEMOLITION OF A NON-CONTRIBUTING STRUCTURE, AND THE NEW
CONSTRUCTION OF A THREE-STORY COMMERCIAL BUILDING, LOCATED AT
APPROXIMATELY 5105-5125 BISCAYNE BOULEVARD, WITHIN THE MIAMI MODERN/
BISCAYNE BOULEVARD HISTORIC DISTRICT.
Upon being seconded by Mr. Hugh Ryan the motion passed and was adopted by a vote of 4-1:

EXHIBIT "A"
1. All glass shall be clear with the option of Low -E.
2. Applied brick shutters and the brick veneer covering the columns of
the historic structure must remain.
3. The existing railings that line the staircases leading up from the
courtyard and surrounding the second floor balconies of the historic
structure must be salvaged and re -used. In areas where there is to be
new railings, the design of the original historic building must be
replicated.
4. The existing decorative concrete block garden wall in the historic
structure must be retained.
5. The original sign structure must be retained and use open face channel
letters to depict the name, Bayside Motor Inn on the historic structure
6. Applicant to provide an interior or exterior shade treatment to prevent
light spillage from the interior spaces into the adjacent residential
neighborhood.
7. All lighting on the exterior of both structures the property and in the
parking lot of both structures shall not be higher than 18'-0" in height
and be warm in color.
8. This Certificate of Appropriateness is subject to approval by zoning,
building, and all other required city departments.
