NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Miami City Commission will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 9:00
AM, to consider the award of a contract to the non-profit organization listed below through
Anti -Poverty grant funds from the District 4 share of the City of Miami's Anti -Poverty
Initiative Program. Elliott's Karate/DO, Inc. strives to inspire students to achieve success
in Martial Arts, which offers self-control; self-defense; and success lessons focusing on
both good habits and attitude; secondly, to consider the City Manager's recommendations
and finding that competitive negotiation methods are not practicable or advantageous
regarding these issues:
• Elliott's Karate/DO, Inc. - to fund the Elliott's Karate -Do Program in collaboration with
Envelopes of Safety Program, operated by the Miami -Dade County School Board in
partnership with District 7 County Commissioner Xavier Suarez.

This action is being considered pursuant to Section 18-85 (A) of the Code of the City of
Miami, Florida as amended (the "Code"). The recommendations and findings to be
considered in this matter are set forth in the proposed resolution and in Code Section 18-
85 (A), which are deemed to be incorporated by reference herein and are available as
with the regularly scheduled City Commission meeting of May 11, 2017 at Miami City Hall,
3500 Pan American Drive, Miami, Florida.
The Miami City Commission requests all interested parties be present or represented at
the meeting and may be heard with respect to any proposition before the City Commission
in which the City Commission may take action. Should any person desire to appeal any
decision of the City Commission with respect to any matter to be considered at this
meeting, that person shall ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made
including all testimony and evidence upon which any appeal may be based (F.S.
286.0105).
