HomeMy WebLinkAboutMemo - Dept of Fire-RescueTO: Annie Perez, Director Purchasing Department FROM: Ruben A. Diaz Assistant Fire Chien Logistics Division CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA INTER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM DATE: November 3. 2016 SUBJECT: REFERENCES: Fire Station #12 Exhaust System ENCLOSURES: In 2015 the City of Miami Fire Department had exhaust removal systems installed in 10 of our fire stations. We are seeking to install the identical exhaust removal system at Fire Station #12. Our current stations all use a 4 filter system, Magnegrip Group Airhawk ceiling mount filtration units as well as Greenhek exhaust fans for air removal and exchange. The 10 existing stations, including station #12 will soon be covered under a 3 year maintenance contract once the system at Fire Station #12 is finalized and the contract is awarded. The filters are identical at the 10 existing stations and going to a different vendor and system for just one station will necessitate the purchase of additional model filters and will create an unnecessary additional expense to the City. Also, by opting to a different vendor/manufacturer, we would have to establish a separate maintenance contract for Fire Station 412, opposed to simply including them with the other 10 fire stations. This too would cause an unnecessary expense to the City. For the purpose of consistency, please consider this letter as a respectful request to use Garrison Mechanical, who is the South Florida manufacturer's representative for Magnegrip Group Airhawk ceiling mount filtration units and Greenhek exhaust fares. Please consider the above mentioned vendor/manufacturer as the only permissible option for exhaust removal systems to be installed at Fire Station #12.
