HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-17-0079City of Miami Legislation Resolution R-17-0079 File Number: 1608 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com Final Action Date: 2/23/2017 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE TO THE AUTHORIZED EXPENDITURE LIMITS IN AN AMOUNT OF $25,000.00, FOR A TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $75,000.00, FOR THE PURCHASE OF LIFEGUARD EQUIPMENT AND AQUATIC CENTER SUPPLIES FROM WATER SAFETY PRODUCTS, E -LIFEGUARD, AND THE LIFEGUARD STORE, UTILIZING THE COMPETITIVELY BID BREVARD COUNTY CONTRACT B-6-15-44, EFFECTIVE THROUGH MARCH 26,2017; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION, SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS AND BUDGETARY APPROVAL AT TIME OF NEED. WHEREAS, the City Manager approved accessing the Brevard County Contract B-6-15- 44 up to $50,000.00 on June 26, 2015; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation ("Parks") has a need for the procurement of additional lifeguard equipment and aquatic center supplies; and WHEREAS, an increase in usage at City of Miami ("City") aquatic centers has created a demand to increase and fully stock the facilities with safety equipment necessary to operate and provide pool recreation services; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. An increase to the authorized' expenditure limits in an amount not to exceed $25,000.00, for a total amount not to exceed $75,000.00, for the purchase of lifeguard equipment and aquatic center supplies from Water Safety products, E -Lifeguard, and The Lifeguard Store, utilizing the competitively bid Brevard County Contract B-6-15-44, effective through March 26, 2017, is approved. Section 3. Funds are to be allocated from the Department of Parks and Recreation, subject to the availability of funds and budgetary approval at time of need. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.2 ' The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code provisions. 2 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
