HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-17-0019City of Miami Legislation Resolution R-17-0019 File Number: 1493 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com Final Action Date: 1/12/2017 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE ALL CONTRACTS AND OTHER RELATED DOCUMENTS, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY AMENDMENTS, RENEWALS, EXTENSIONS, AND MODIFICATIONS, TO REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS CONTRACT NO. 521381 FOR THE MUNICIPAL BOND UNDERWRITING SERVICES POOL, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, AS MAY BE NECESSARY FOR SAID PURPOSES. WHEREAS, on April 28, 2016, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 16-0207 approving the City of Miami's ("City") award of Request for Qualifications ("RFQ") Contract No. 521381 to a pre -qualified pool of fourteen (14) Municipal Bond Underwriting Firms for the provision of municipal bond underwriting services for the Department of Finance on an as - needed project basis for an initial period of four (4) years with the option to renew for four (4) additional one (1) year periods for a total term not exceeding eight (8) years; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to authorize the City Manager to negotiate and execute all other documents, including but not limited to any amendments, renewals, extensions, and modifications, to the contract in a form acceptable to City Attorney, as may be necessary for said purposes; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized' to negotiate and execute all contracts, amendments and other related documents, including any amendments, renewals, extensions, and modifications, to Request for Qualifications Contract No. 521381 for the Municipal Bond Underwriting Services Pool, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, as may be necessary for said purposes. Section 3. Such contracts, amendments and other related documents shall be in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.2 ' The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code provisions. 2 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
