A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, RESCINDING RESOLUTION
NO. 17-0412 ADOPTED ON SEPTEMBER 19, 2017, AND DE -ALLOCATING GRANT
FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,000.00 PREVIOUSLY AWARDED TO THE ROTARY
CLUB OF MIAMI, INC. INTERACT CLUB AT MIAMI SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL
("ROTARY CLUB") DUE TO THE ORGANIZATION'S DECLINING TO ACCEPT SAID
GRANT FUNDS; REALLOCATING SAID GRANT FUNDS TO THE DISTRICT 3
COMMISSIONER'S SHARE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI ANTI -POVERTY INITIATIVE
FUND.
WHEREAS, on September 19, 2017, the Miami City Commission adopted Resolution
No. 17-0412 which awarded the Rotary Club of Miami, Inc. Interact Club at Miami Senior High
School ("Rotary Club") an amount not to exceed $5,000.00 for the District 3 Commissioner's
share of the City of Miami's ("City") Anti -Poverty Initiative ("API"); and
WHEREAS, the Rotary Club notified the City that it would be very difficult and time-
consuming to faithfully comply with all the requirements of the agreement related to the
allocation; and
WHEREAS, the Rotary Club, therefore, declined the acceptance of the stated funds; and
WHEREAS, the District 3 Commissioner wishes to accept the Rotary Club's declining of
the funds, by rescinding Resolution No. 17-0412, previously adopted on September 19, 2017;
and
WHEREAS, the Miami City Commission wishes to reallocate the stated funds to the
District 3 Commissioner's share of the API;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble of this Resolution are
adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Resolution No. 17-0412 previously adopted on September 19, 2017, is hereby
rescinded in its entirety.
Section 3. The API funds previously allocated to the Rotary Club in the amount of
$5,000.00 is hereby de -allocated.
Section 4. The $5,000.00 previously allocated to the Rotary Club is hereby reallocate to
the District 3 Commissioner's share of the API for a future allocation.
Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the Mayor.'

' If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
