A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION WAIVING, PURSUANT TO SECTION
54-341(E) OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED ("CITY CODE"),
THE RESTRICTION CONTAINED IN SECTION 54-341(C)(2) OF THE CITY CODE THAT
PROHIBITS MORE THAN ONE (1) SPECIAL EVENT PER MONTH FROM INVOLVING
STREET CLOSURES, FOR THOSE SPECIAL EVENTS OCCURRING WITHIN THE
BOUNDARIES OF THE "COCONUT GROVE SPECIAL EVENTS DISTRICT", TO ALLOW FOR
THE COCONUT GROVE BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT "COCONUT GROVE
HOLIDAY VILLAGE" AND THE 35TH KING MANGO STRUT TO TAKE PLACE ON
DECEMBER 3, 2016 AND DECEMBER 31, 2016, RESPECTIVELY, WITH STREET
CLOSURES.

A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION WAIVING, PURSUANT TO
SECTION 54-341(E) OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS
AMENDED ("CITY CODE"), THE RESTRICTION CONTAINED IN SECTION 54-
341(c)(2) OF THE CITY CODE THAT PROHIBITS MORE THAN ONE (1) SPECIAL
EVENT PER MONTH FROM INVOLVING STREET CLOSURES, FOR THOSE
SPECIAL EVENTS OCCURRING WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF THE "COCONUT
GROVE SPECIAL EVENTS DISTRICT", TO ALLOW FOR THE COCONUT GROVE
BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT "COCONUT GROVE HOLIDAY VILLAGE"
AND THE 35TH KING MANGO STRUT TO TAKE PLACE ON DECEMBER 3, 2016
AND DECEMBER 31, 2016, RESPECTIVELY, WITH STREET CLOSURES.
WHEREAS, Section 54-341(c)(2) of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended
("City Code"), prohibits more than one (1) special event per month from involving street
closures, for those special events occurring within the boundaries of the "Coconut Grove
Special Events District" ("District"); and
WHEREAS, on December 3, 2016, the Coconut Grove Business Improvement District
"Coconut Grove Holiday Village" will take place within the boundaries of the District, which will
result in street closures; and
WHEREAS, on December 31, 2016, the 35th King Mango Strut will take place within the
boundaries of the District, which will result in street closures; and
WHEREAS, the Miami City Commission ("Commission"), pursuant to Section 54-341(e)
of the City Code, has the authority to waive or modify the above restriction; and
WHEREAS, the Commission finds that no adverse impact exists if the above restriction
is waived to allow street closures for both the Coconut Grove Holiday Village and King Mango
Strut;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Pursuant to Section 54-341(e) of the City Code, the restriction contained in
Section 54-341(c)(2) the City Code that prohibits more than one (1) special event per month
from involving street closures, for those events occurring within the boundaries of the District, is
hereby waived to allow for the Coconut Grove Business Improvement District "Coconut Grove
Holiday Village" and the 351h King Mango Strut to take place on December 3, 2016 and
December 31, 2016, respectively, with street closures.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the Mayor.'

' If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
