HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-16-0556City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-16-0556 File Number: 1019 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com Final Action Date: 11/17/2016 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), ACCEPTING THE BID RECEIVED APRIL 7, 2016, PURSUANT TO INVITATION FOR BIDS NO. 15-16-019 FROM TEXAS AQUATIC HARVESTING, INC., THE SOLE REMAINING RESPONSIVE AND RESPONSIBLE BIDDER, FOR THE PROJECT ENTITLED "CITYWIDE CANAL CLEANING CONTRACT, M-0111", FOR AN INITIAL TERM OF TWO (2) YEARS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $1,653,792.00, WITH THREE (3) ONE (1) YEAR OPTIONS TO RENEW, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $826,896.00 PER YEAR, WITH FUNDS ALLOCATED FROM THE STORM WATER ACCOUNT AND OTHER FUNDING SOURCES; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, FOR SAID PURPOSE; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE SAID OPTIONS TO RENEW, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, SUBJECT TO THE CONTRACTOR'S PERFORMANCE, THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS AND BUDGETARY APPROVAL AT THE TIME OF NEED. WHEREAS, two (2) contractors submitted bids in response to Invitation for Bids ("IFB") No. 15-16-019, of which one (1) contractor did not meet the requirement for the number of projects similar in size, scope and work and was deemed non-responsive and non -responsible; and WHEREAS, Texas Aquatic Harvesting, Inc., the sole remaining responsive and responsible bidder, is recommended for award; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The bid received April 7, 2016, pursuant to IFB No. 15-16-019, from Texas Aquatic Harvesting, Inc., the sole remaining responsive and responsible bidder, for the project entitled "Citywide Canal Cleaning Contract, M-0111 ", is accepted. Section 2. The initial term of the contract shall be for two (2) years, in an amount not to exceed $1,653,792.00, with three (3) additional one (1) year options to renew, in an amount not to exceed $826,896.00 per year, with funds allocated from the storm water account and other funding sources. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized' to execute a Contract, in substantially the attached form, for said purpose. Section 4.
