The City of Miami ("City") created: the Anti -Poverty Initiative to address poverty and focus on providing
support to its residents.
Collaborative Development Corporation, Inc, (the organizations), is a local non-profit knowledgeable in
the area of housing and has experience in providing assistance to those in need of housing. The funds
being allocated to the organization will be utilized for an emergency shelter assistance program. The
programs will provide assistance in the form of, but not limited to, relocation costs, rental assistance,
utility assistance, and security deposit assistance to District 2 Residents.
As they are familiar with the needs of the community and requirements unposed by the City, it would be
advantageous to the City to expedite alae allocation and waive procurement requirements at this time.
Providing these f I ds to the organization will allow more youth to obtain these services immediately, with
no added: time fear the procurement process, which could take over 30-40 days.
COMMENDATION
In light of the above stated, approval of a waiver of the fornnaal requirements of coilapetitive scalers bidding
methods as not being practicable or advantageous to the City as set forth in the City Code of QrdinaraCos,
as amended, speci tally Section 18-85 (A), and the affirmation, of these written findings and the
forwarding of'the same to the City Commission for ratification by a four-fifths vote is respectfully
requested.
