Background Information
The contract extension with Enterprise Leasing Company of Florida LLC ("Enterprise") under a previous
contract, expired April 30, 2016. As a result, the City needed to procure rental car services as an
emergency procurement in order to ensure continuity of services once all City rental vehicles from
Enterprise were returned prior to April 30, 2016, On April 4, 2016 the City Manager approved an
emergency procurement, of which it's ratification by City Commission is being submitted as a companion
item for City Commission's approval, for the June 23, 2016 meeting. Royal Rent A Car Systems of
Florida, Inc. ("Royal"), the Primary vendor under the County's contract, was selected for the emergency
procurement in order to facilitate a bridge contract and ensure a seamless transition when the item to
access the County's contract is approved by the City Commission.
This resolution will authorize the piggyback and use of the competitively bid, Miami -Dade County
Contract No. 8809-0/19, for Vehicle Rental Services with Royal, Primary vendor and Enterprise,
Secondary vendor, effective through February 28, 2020. The estimated fiscal impact is $3,600,000 for
the remaining 44 months of the contract term.
