Today's proposed boundary designation is nothing more than the theft of documented real
history. For over one hundred years varied groups of immigrants came here to work hard
embracing this country and helping in developing our numerous communities like Lemon City,
Edison Little River and Model Cities.
Of all of these groups living and working for the American dream for over these one -hundred
years it is now the Haitian community being represented by a few feel their relatively short area
occupancy entitles them to rewrite history. Ghat arrogance by proclamation of disrespect. (n
recent publications, the leaders of this Little Haiti boundary line movement refer to our area
developers, stakeholders and many businesses as racist because they only disagree. 44ow
common it is using their go -to card of racism when there is no foundation to support their
agenda.
There is no racism here by the objectors, just the support of history and the pride of a growing
area. The proponents of this boundary initiative say the want to legislate this as Little 14aiti to
stop the gentrification of the area. Well what happen to embracing these neighborhoods as many
have for the last one -hundred years. All of these areas have been perpetually evolving. Your
right in one way, theres no more lemon groves in Lemon City and the Little River has had its river
dammed as not navigable to the bay and Model City now has (-95 cutting thru it but the names
have survived, history has survived and these areas continue to evolve.
Bottom line, Little Haiti is recognized by name and reputation throughout the country within
many publications as Little Havana is. Certified boundaries are not needed.
(n Reviewing the Wikipedia site in the Haitian diaspora to our country, it has been to Miami and
many large cites like New York City, Brooklyn, Rode (sland, Queens, Boston and many more. All
of those areas still retain their historic names none have been legislated as Little Haiti.
As a reminder to this commission, many stakeholders and businesses have been here longer than
the Haitian migration. None of them have asked to Change the name to Little (taly , Little Buba,
Little Asia or Little Germany. All have been here and most have prospered.
Racism you say, disrespect you say, well it is present and being fully expounded by the writers,
presenters and Haitian representatives making the presentation here today.
How dare this agenda comes to this commission, how proud the many are we to stand here and

To vote boundaries for tourist advertising purposes as proclaime2 within is commission that is
the biggest disappointment when our leaders abandon their town, their many district businesses
and our areas historical names.
Thank you for this time. But Before the gavel drops, this commission represents all the people. If
you want to honor this group make
A proclamation for a Little Haiti day and celebration. If our presidents get one day, Martin
Luther King gets one day, Miami`& Little Haiti should be thrilled to be put in such good company
for perpetual historical survival.
Thank you
