HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationFile Number: 16-00090 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE PROCUREMENT OF FORECLOSED AND ABANDONED PROPERTY REGISTRY SERVICES FROM COMMUNITY CHAMPIONS CORPORATION, FOR THE CITY OF MIAMI CODE COMPLIANCE DEPARTMENT, PURSUANT TO SECTION 18-111 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, UTILIZING THE EXISTING COMPETITIVELY BID CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, -FLORIDA CONTRACT, REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL NO. P-38-15, EFFECTIVE THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 2017, SUBJECT TO ANY RENEWALS, EXTENSIONS, OR REPLACEMENT CONTRACTS BY THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, FOR SAID PURPOSE. WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") has a large number of foreclosed and abandoned properties that are not registered with the City, including properties in unsafe and blighted conditions; and WHEREAS, the City does not maintain a process to track and manage foreclosed and abandoned properties owned or managed by financial institutions within the City; and - - -- -WHEREAS; the City has -determined -that the use of a Foreclosed and Abandoned -Property -- Registry managed by Community Champions Corporation is a critical need for the City's Code Compliance Department; and WHEREAS, the City desires to piggyback the contract currently in place between the City of Jacksonville, Florida and Community Champions Corporation for the provision of these services at no cost to the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The procurement of Foreclosed and Abandoned Property Registry Services from Community Champions Corporation, for the City's Code Compliance Department, pursuant to Section 18-111 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, utilizing the existing competitively bid City of Jacksonville, Florida contract, Request for Proposal No. P-38-15, effective through September 30, 2017, subject to any renewals, extensions, or replacement contracts by the City of Jacksonville, Florida, is authorized. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute the Supplemental Agreement to the City of Jacksonville, Florida contract, in substantially the attached form, for said purpose. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor. {2} -1 APPROVED VJ.eTORIA MEN4nEZ (3ITY ATTO RN EY tnotes : M�A/ND CORRECTNESS: r� 4 {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to, those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} if the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted, if the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
