A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, BY FOUR-FIFTHS (4/5THS)
AFFIRMATIVE VOTE, RETROACTIVELY AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH CORNERSTONE RESEARCH FOR THE
PROVISION OF EXPERT WITNESS RELATED SERVICES, PURSUANT TO
SECTION 18-72 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED,
AND RETROACTIVELY AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS FOR SAID
PURPOSE; ALLOCATING SAID FUNDS FROM NON -DEPARTMENTAL ACCOUNT
NO. 00001.980000.531010.0000.00000.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami is currently engaged in ongoing litigation in the case of Securities
and Exchange Commission v. City of Miami, Florida and Michael Boudreaux, Case No. 13 -CV -22600,
pending in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida; and
WHEREAS, expert witness related services are required for trial currently scheduled for August
2016;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. By a four-fifths (4/5ths) affirmative vote, the City Manager is retroactively authorized
{1} to enter into an agreement with Cornerstone Research for the provision of expert witness related
services, pursuant to Section 18-72 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, and is
retroactively authorized to expend funds for said purpose.
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized to allocate funds from Non -Departmental Account No.
00001.980000.531010.0000.00000.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor. {2}

{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter
and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
