Hannon City Clerk Date: March 28, 2016 Subject: Charter Review and Reform Committee References: Agenda for April 14, 2016 Enclosures: List of Members The Charter Review and Reform Committee was created to (1) review the Charter of the City of Miami, and any changes to the Charter suggested by the Mayor or any of the five (5) members of the City Commission; (2) hold public hearings to receive input; (3) issue a final written report to the City Commission; and (4) serve in an advisory capacity to the City Commission and recommend, in writing, any amendments necessary to reform or update said Charter, providing, however, that any member of the Charter Review Committee may present an alternative recommendation regarding any specific Charter change proposal. Three (3) appointments are needed at this time: • Vice Chair Ken Russell has two (2) nominations for seats currently held by:* 1. Jay Solowsky, incumbent, whose term expired on September 29, 2015. 2. Melissa Tapanes Llahues, incumbent, whose term expired on September 29, 2015. Commissioner Frank Carollo has one (1) nomination for a seat currently held by: Jose Bejel, incumbent, whose term expires on May 14, 2016. For your convenience, we have included a copy of the current membership of said committee.
