A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, PURSUANT TO SECTION
18-82(A) OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED,
CLASSIFYING ONE (1) FORD CROWN VICTORIA POLICE INTERCEPTOR,
MODEL YEAR 2007, VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER 2FAFP71 W97X108782,
AS CATEGORY "A" SURPLUS STOCK, AND DONATING SAID VEHICLE TO THE
MIAMI POLICE BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION, INC., UPON THE EXECUTION OF
THE APPROPRIATE RELEASE DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") Department of General Services Administration ("GSA")
decommissioned one (1) Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, model year 2007, model number
2FAFP71 W97X108782 ("Vehicle"); and
WHEREAS, the City's Chief Procurement Officer has declared the Vehicle as surplus; and
WHEREAS, Section 18-82(a) of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended ("City Code"),
entitled "Disposal of Surplus City -Owned Personal Property," provides that surplus property declared
as Category "A" stock shall be available for disposition as the City's contribution or the City's
commitment in support of a particular public purpose, which may include community, civic, or social
service programs as may be authorized by the City Commission; and
WHEREAS, the Miami Police Benevolent Association, Inc. is described by its charter as an
"Association that shall have for its object the welfare and conduct of its members, the regulation and
adjustment of matters pertaining to and affecting its members, the promotion of efficiency in the
Police Department; the promotion of confidence, cooperation, harmony, friendly and social relations
among its members, as well as the general public and all public officials"; and
WHEREAS, the donated vehicle is to be displayed at the police museum operated by the Miami
Police Benevolent Association, Inc., and will be used in community events; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission authorizes the donation of the Category "A" surplus stock
Vehicle to the Association in support of its particular public purpose in providing quality programs and
community initiatives;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Pursuant to Section 18-82(a) of the City Code, one (1) Ford Crown Victoria Police
Interceptor, model year 2007, model number 2FAFP71 W97X108782, is classified as Category "A"
surplus stock.

Section 3. The Vehicle is donated to the Association, upon the execution of the appropriate
release documents.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor. {1 }
Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter
and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
