Background Information: It is the purpose and intent to establish a process to address the deterioration and blight of City of Miami neighborhoods caused by vacant properties and properties with defaulted mortgages located within the City, and to identify, regulate, limit and reduce the number of these properties located within the City. Properties that are foreclosed, vacant, and abandoned cause communities to suffer increased compliance concerns, often threaten the health and vitality of community and create a great burden. With this proposed amendment, it would give us a better grip on properties being left vacant and not maintained properly as per City of Miami standards and codes.
