HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationFile Number: 16-00164 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A LOCALLY FUNDED AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, WITH THE STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE INSTALLATION OF NINETEEN (19) DECORATIVE LIGHT POLES ALONG STATE ROAD 968/SOUTHWEST 1 ST STREET FROM FLAGLER STREET TO SOUTHWEST 17TH AVENUE, MIAMI, FLORIDA. WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") has jurisdiction over and maintains the State Road ("S.R.") 968/Southwest 1 st Street corridor within the corporate limits of the City; and WHEREAS, the City has requested that the Department of Public Works ("Department") install, or cause to be installed, nineteen (19) decorative light poles along S. R. 968/Southwest 1st Street from Flagler Street to Southwest 17th Avenue, Miami, Florida ("Project"); and WHEREAS, the Department has agreed to complete the Project subject to the terms and conditions detailed in the Locally Funded Agreement ("Agreement") between the City and the State of Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT"); and WHEREAS, the City shall fund the increased costs under Financial Project No. 414633-2-52-02, associated with the Project, and as detailed in the attached Exhibit "A", "Scope of Services", which is herein incorporated by reference; and WHEREAS, the parties are authorized to enter into this Agreement pursuant to Sections 334.044(7) and 339.12, Florida Statutes, and to authorize its officers to do so; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{1 } to execute the Agreement, in substantially the attached form, with the FDOT for completion of the Project. Section 3. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
