Purpose of Item: A Resolution of the Miami City Commission, with attachment(s) making provisions for a municipal election on March 15, 2016, for the purpose of submitting to the electorate at said election the following referendum ballot question: "Shall the City be authorized to lease approximately 0.73 acres of waterfront land on the Miami River to Riverside Wharf, LLC, providing for 1) $195,500 of minimum guaranteed annual rent, and 2) approximately $7 million investment for privately funded improvements including the construction of restaurants and continuity of the Miami Riverwalk, for a 30 year term with two 10 year renewal options?"; designating and appointing the City Clerk as the official representative of the City Commission with respect to the use of such registration books and records, authorizing and directing the City Clerk to publish notice of the adoption of this resolution and the provisions thereof pursuant to applicable law; and directing the City Clerk to cause a certified copy of the herein resolution'' to be delivered to the Supervisor of Elections of Miami -Dade County, Florida pursuant to applicable law. Director Asst City Manager City Manager9 Page I of 2 em SUPPLEMENTAL PAGE Subject: A Resolution making_ provisions for a municipal election the referendum ballot question authorizing a Lease Agreement with Selected Proposer for North River Property Request for Proposals ("RFP") No. 14-15-024, for lease of City -owned property located at 236 and 298 Southwest North River Drive, Miami, Florida, 33130 (also known as North River Property). Background Information: In accordance with the provisions of the City Charter and Code, the City conducted a competitive solicitation process for the development and lease of a waterfront property on the Miami River. The City Manager has made a recommendation to the City Commission to accept a proposal that has been duly approved. The City Commission wishes to poll the electors of the City of Miami as to whether the City of Miami shall be authorized to lease City -owned riverfront land at 236 and 298 Southwest North River Drive, Miami, Florida, 33130 to Riverside Wharf, LLC for 30 years with two 10 -year renewal options subject to a minimum total guaranteed rent of $195,500 upon completion and subject to additional conditions as the City may require.
