A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION REAPPOINTING VICTORIA
MENDEZ AS CITY ATTORNEY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, TO HOLD
OFFICE AS PROVIDED FOR IN THE CITY CHARTER WITH COMPENSATION AND
EMOLUMENTS TO REMAIN THE SAME.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 4(e) of the Charter of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, the
City Commission is obligated to elect and appoint a City Attorney; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 13-0361, adopted September 12, 2013, the City
Commission elected and appointed Victoria Mendez as the City Attorney of the City of Miami, Florida;
and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 13-0503, adopted December 12, 2013, the City
Commission approved the compensation and emoluments for Victoria Mendez as the City Attorney of
the City of Miami, Florida; and
WHEREAS, Section 21 of the Charter of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, requires the City
Attorney to be reappointed after each municipal election; and
WHEREAS, Victoria Mendez has performed her duties as City Attorney in an exemplary and
professional manner;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Victoria Mendez is elected and reappointed as City Attorney of the City of Miami,
Florida, to serve until the first City Commission meeting following the next general municipal or run-off
election(s) with compensation and emoluments to remain the same.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
