AUTHORIZING THE PROCUREMENT OF THE SPOIL ISLAND MAINTENANCE SERVICES WITH MADSON, INC., FOR THE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT, PURSUANT TO SECTION 18-111 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, UTILIZING THE COMPETITIVELY BID AND EXISTING MIAMI-DADE COUNTY CONTRACT NO. 8448-0/18, EFFECTIVE THROUGH MARCH 31, 2018, SUBJECT TO ANY EXTENSIONS AND/OR REPLACEMENT CONTRACTS BY MIAMI-DADE COUNTY; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE VARIOUS SOURCES OF FUNDS OF THE END-USER DEPARTMENT, SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS AND BUDGETARY APPROVAL AT THE TIME OF NEED. WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department ("Parks Department") "accessing" of the Miami -Dade County ("County") Bid Contract No. 8448-0/18 for Spoil Island Maintenance Services will enable the Parks Department to utilize an approved vendor with the necessary equipment needed to provide the maintenance service; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 18-111 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended ("City Code"), the Chief Procurement Officer determined that said County contract was entered into pursuant to a competitive process in compliance with the City's ordinances, policies and procedures; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The procurement from Madson, Inc. of the Spoil Island Maintenance Services for the Parks Department, pursuant to Section 18-111 of the City Code, utilizing the competitively bid and existing contract of the County, Bid Contract No. 8448-0/18, effective through March 31, 2018, subject to any extensions and/or replacement contracts by the County, allocating funds from various sources of funds of the end-user department, subject to availability of funds and budgetary approval at the time of need, is approved. Section 3.
