AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY FORM CONTINUED
Background Information:
The Department of Community and Economic Development receives various types of repayments
from loans provided to developers and homeowner in the past. Such funds, referred to as program
income, are required to be used for eligible program activities.
The Department annually estimates such program income and includes the eligible portion for
program administration in its annual budget.
Between April 1t",2015 to August 18t",2015 the Department of Community and Economic
Development has collected an approximate amount of $401,175 in CDBG program income.
Due to CDBG timeliness, these funds must be used for eligible activities that can be expended prior
to January 311t, 2016.
The Fire -Rescue Department is in need of additional funds to purchase fire equipment for use in low
and moderate income areas of the City,
The Administration recommends the transfer of CDBG Program Income funds in the total amount of
$401,175 as shown in Attachment "A".
