HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationFile Number: 15-00987 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO GRANT AN EXTENSION OF TIME FOR THE 2014-2015 AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI AND ALLAPATTAH BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY, INC., EXTENDING THE AGREEMENT END DATE FROM MARCH 31, 2015 TO DECEMBER 31, 2015, TO PROVIDE HOUSING QUALITY STANDARD INSPECTION SERVICES, AS SPECIFIED IN ATTACHMENT "A"; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITYATTORNEY, FOR SAID PURPOSE(S). WHEREAS, Allapattah Business Development Authority, Inc. ("ABDA") is a private nonprofit sub -recipient defined under the provisions of 24CFR 570.500(c), eligible to receive Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") funding assistance from the City of Miami ("City") to undertake activities eligible for such assistance under Subpart C of the regulations; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 14-0172, adopted May 08, 2014, the City Commission authorized the transfer of CDBG Administration and Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS program delivery funds to ABDA to provide Housing Quality Standard Inspection Services, an eligible activity under Subpart C; and WHEREAS, due to delays in commencing the contract, an extension is needed to allow the agency to complete the contract; and WHEREAS, the City Administration requests the extending of the agreement end date from March 31, 2015 to December 31, 2015; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA; Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The extension of time for the 2014-2015 agreement between the City and ABDA extending the agreement end date from March 31, 2015 to December 31, 2015 is authorized. Section 3. The City Manager is further authorized {1} to execute all documents, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, for said purpose. Section 4. This Resolution, shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor {2). If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
