A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A COOPERATIVE
AGREEMENT ("AGREEMENT"), IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM,
BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI ("CITY") AND THE SCHOOL BOARD OF
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONTINUING THE NATIONALLY
ACCLAIMED PROJECT FOR STUDENTS EXPLORING ALTERNATIVE
RESOURCES AT CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL ("PROJECT SEARCH MIAMI") AT THE
CITY, WITH PROJECT SEARCH MIAMI DESIGNED TO PROVIDE MARKETABLE
JOB TRAINING AND SOCIAL SKILLS FOR YOUTH WITH DISABILITIES, TO
ACHIEVE THE GOAL OF SUSTAINABLE EMPLOYMENT; FURTHER
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY
DOCUMENTS, AMENDMENTS, EXTENSIONS, AND MODIFICATIONS THERETO,
AFTER CONSULTATION WITH THE CITY ATTORNEY, IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE
ATTACHED AGREEMENT, FOR A PERIOD Of THREE (3) YEARS COMMENCING
JULY 1, 2015 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2018.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City"), through the Department of Parks and Recreation
("Department"), will continue to implement the nationally acclaimed Project for Students Exploring
Alternative Resources at Children's Hospital ("Project Search Miami") program, that teaches
marketable job training and social skills for youth with disabilities at several City worksite locations; and
WHEREAS, the program is implemented with a unique public-private collaboration between the
City and the School Board of Miami -Dade County ("MDCPS" ); and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department are requesting that the City Commission
authorize the City Manager to negotiate and execute a Cooperative Agreement ("Agreement"), in
substantially the attached form, setting forth the in-kind contributions of each agency for the successful
implementation of Project Search Miami, for a period of three (3) tears commencing July 1, 2015
through June 30, 2018;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble of this Resolution are adopted
by reference incorporated as fully set forth in this section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{1 } to execute the Agreement, in substantially the
attached form, between the City and MDCPS, for the purpose of continuing the nationally acclaimed
Project Search Miami program at the City, with said program designed to provide marketable job
training and social skills for youth with disabilities, to achieve the goal of sustainable employment.
Section 3. The City Manager is further authorized{1} to execute the necessary documents,
amendments, extensions, and modifications thereto, after consultation with the City Attorney, in

Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature

{1} The herein authorization is further subjected to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City
Charter and Code provisions.
{2} if the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10)
calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted, If the Mayor vetoes this resolution, it shall
become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City of Miami Commission.
