SUBJECT: Emergency Purchase Order— Landscape
Management Assessment
ENCLOSURES: Scope of `York
Pursuant to Section 18-90 of the City Codc, the Planning and Zoning Department respectfully requests your
approval for an emergency purchase order for landscape damage assessment services of the City's tree canopy
as a result of Hurricane Irma in an amount not to exceed $1501.000. This request will be funded through the
Tree Trust Fund
(P. 15-110136,3., A: 2061).
The services to be provided by Earth Advisor, hic. include but are not limited to site inspections of tree and
landscape damage and verification for land improvements (i.e. irrigation systerns, sidewalks, fences, storm
water systems, etc.). Currently all City Certified Arborists are in the field assisting* other Departments,
howvever, additional resources are needed to assist in the assessment of damage and restoration efforts of the tree
canopy in Parks and along the ri=ght-of-ways. The intent of this assessment is to preserve as much tree canopy
as possible as well as establish an inventory of assessed trees for future maintenance and monitoring. This wort:
will provide relief to the Environmental Resources staff since on field activities are currently hindering the
permit plans review and creating additional backlog.
Ninth the assistance of the Purchasing Department, it is intended that this project be presented to be ratified by
the City Commission in November 2017.
Your signature below affirms your decision to declare procurement of landscape damage assessment services an
