HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-17-0363opCity of Miami 1 i.RR cl Legislation alldl 1 l + Resolution R-17-0363 File Number: 2651 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com Final Action Date: 7/27/2017 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION DECLARING NO OBJECTION AND SUPPORTING THE CO -DESIGNATION BY THE FLORIDA LEGISLATURE, PURSUANT TO SENATE BILL 368, DESIGNATING THAT PORTION WITHIN THE CITY OF MIAMI LIMITS OF SOUTHWEST 22ND STREET, BETWEEN S.R. 933/SOUTHWEST 12TH AVENUE AND SOUTHWEST 13TH AVENUE, MIAMI, FLORIDA, IN MIAMI-DADE COUNTY AS "LUIS FERNANDO BRANDE STREET;" FURTHER DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO TRANSMIT A COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, DISTRICT SIX, FOR SIGN INSTALLATION WITHIN THE NEWLY DESIGNATED ROADWAY. WHEREAS, the 2017 Florida State Legislature, pursuant to Senate Bill 368, requested a honorary designation of a road located within the City of Miami ("City") for "Luis Fernando Brande Street;" and WHEREAS, the Miami City Commission has no objection and supports the proposed street co -designation of that portion within the City limits of Southwest 22nd Street between S.R. 933/Southwest 12th Avenue and Southwest 13th Avenue, Miami, Florida in Miami -Dade County as "Luis Fernando Brande Street;" NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble of this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The Miami City Commission declares no objection and supports the above - referenced co -designation by the Florida Legislature, pursuant to Senate Bill 368, designating that portion within the City limits of Southwest 22nd Street between S.R. 933/Southwest 12th Avenue and Southwest 13th Avenue, Miami, Florida, in Miami -Dade County as "Luis Fernando Brande Street." Section 3. The City Clerk is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the Florida Department of Transportation, District Six, for sign installation within the newly co -designated roadway. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.' ' If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
