Dear Mr. Garcia; The Department of Environmental Resources Management (DERM) has reviewed the above -referenced document received June 12, 2008 pertaining to the removal of (1) 10,000 gallon underground storage tank (UST) system on September 5, 2007 and has determined that this report meets the requirements of Chapter 62-761.800, Florida Administrative Code (FAC). Therefore, the report has been placed on file with other pertinent material regarding the subject site. Total Benzo(a)pyrene Equivalents in soil samples PR -1(1'-3')(0.4 mg/kg), SS -E (4'-6")(0.9 mglkg), SS -PA (1'- 3')(1.6 mg/kg), SS -PB (1'-3')(6,1 mg/kg), SS -PC (1'-3')(0.8 mg/kg), SS -PD (1'-3')(0.9), SS -PE (1'-3')(1.7 mg/kg), SS -PG (1'-3')(0.5 mg/kg), and SS -Bottom (3')(0.4 mg/kg) exceed the Chapter 62-777, FAC soil cleanup target levels (CTLs); therefore, further assessment in accordance with Chapter 62-770, FAC is required. However, the contamination is eligible for state -funded cleanup under the Early Detection Incentive (EDI) program (discharge dated July 9, 1986), since the above -referenced UST was known to be on-site at the time of application to EDI. In accordance with Florlda Statute, F.S. 376.30, you are required to obtain prior written approval from the Department for the scope of work and associated costs in order to be paid from the Inland Protection Trust Fund for subsequent program tasks. Pre -approval requests for additional work may be submitted to the Department. However, they will be reviewed based on priority score and availability of funds. Voluntary work may continue to be performed at the site, as long as the work is performed in accordance with Chapter 62-770, I"AC.
