Alfonso City Manager City of Miami 444 Southwest Second Avenue, 10th Floor Miami, FL 33130 Dear Mr. Alfonso: Rick Scott, Governor Pam Bondi, Attorney General Jimmy Patronis, Chief Financial Officer Adam Putnam, Commissioner of Agriculture The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) received an appropriation of $700,000 in pass- through funding for your agency to implement an Advanced Crime Reporting and Analytics Application. This funding is allocated for state fiscal year 2017-18, contract period beginning July 1, 2017 and ending June 30, 2018. The proviso language from FDLE's General Appropriations Act (GAA) copied below provides information on the legislative intent for use of these funds: From the funds in Specific Appropriation 1234, $700,000 in nonrecurring general revenue fund is provided to the Miami Police Department's Advanced Crime Reporting and Analytics App (HB 3269). The funds shall be used to develop an app to reduce crime and drug use in Little Havana, Liberty City, and Overtown. The enclosed Program Information and Application Instructions provide an overview of Florida and FDLE's state financial assistance requirements and outlines information needed for FDLE to draft the contract. Please return the requested information to the address below as soon as possible. Monthly programmatic performance reports will be required for payment purposes and for the Department to meet Legislative and Governor's Office reporting requirements for performance and return on investment.
