A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $700,000.00,
CONSISTING OF AN APPROPRIATION FROM THE FLORIDA LEGISLATURE,
THROUGH THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF LAW ENFORCEMENT, FOR THE
CITY OF MIAMI POLICE DEPARTMENT TO IMPLEMENT AN ADVANCED
CRIME REPORTING AND ANALYTICS APPLICATION; AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT, AND ALL NECESSARY
DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, IN ORDER
TO IMPLEMENT THE ACCEPTANCE AND ADMINISTRATION OF SAID GRANT.
WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement received an appropriations of
$700,000 in pass-through funding to the City of Miami Police Department to implement an
Advanced Crime Reporting and Analytics Application; and
WHEREAS, through an appropriation by the Florida Legislature in Specific Appropriation
1234, $700,000 in nonrecurring general revenue funds are to be provided to the Miami Police
Departments to develop an Advanced Crime Reporting and Analytics App to reduce crime and
drug use in Little Havana, Liberty City and Overtown; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City for the City Manager to accept the Grant
and to negotiate and execute, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, the acceptance of said
grant;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized' to accept a legislative appropriation grant
award of $700,000 in pass-through funding to the City of Miami Police Department to implement
an Advanced Crime Reporting and Analytics Application.
Section 3. The City Manager is further authorized to execute an agreement, and all
necessary documents, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, in order to implement the
acceptance and administration of said grant.
' The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by
the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code
provisions.

Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the Mayor.3

3 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
