HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-88-0027J-88-31 1/6/88 RESOLUTION NO. 813-27 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE ADMISSION OF A NEW MEMBER TO THE SUNSHINE STATE GOVERNMENTAL FINANCING COMMISSION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Miami, Florida, (the "City") a Florida municipal corporation, is duly created and existing pursuant to the Constitution and Laws of the State of Florida (the "State"); and WHEREAS, by Interlocal Agreement the City has become a member of the Sunshine State Governmental Financing Commission (the "Commission") which agreement requires the approval of existing members for the admission of new members; and WHEREAS, Polk County has requested admission into the Commission; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. THE City of Miami, Florida, hereby approves the admission of Polk County as a member of the Sunshine State Governmental Financing Commission. Section 2. Odi City Manager RECOMMENDATION: REFERENCESSunshine State Governmental Financing Commission ENCLOSURES: It is respectfully recommended approving the admission of Polk Governmental Financing Commission, BACKGROUND: that the attached Resolution County into the Sunshine State be approved. The City of Miami Commission, as a member of the Sunshine State Governmental Financing Commission, must take action on the admission of new members into the Sunshine State Commission. The law firm of Bryant, Miller and Olive, P.A., as bond counsel to the Sunshine State Commission, has requested the City to act on this Resolution in a timely manner so as not to delay the borrowing of Polk County. cc: Law Department gs-2;
