Dear Mayor and City Commissioners:
The "6th Cuban Municipalities Fair" (Feria de los Municipios) has been
scheduled to take place from April 7th through the loth, 1988, on the
premises of the parking lot adjacent to the Flagler Dog Track, at North-
west 37th Avenue at 7th Street, Miami, and in order to proceed with the
organization of this event, which has become a tradition to our communi-
ty, we, hereby, request your approval for the use of such premises, and
that this event not be counted as one of the two alloted events per site
per year, as specified in ordenance 9500 regarding this type of activi-
ties.
The schedule for the event is as follows:
Thursday, April 7th : from 6 P.M. to 11 p.m.
Friday, April 8th : from 6 p.M. to 11 p.m.
Saturday, April 9th : from 2 p.m. to 12 midnite
Sunday, April loth: from 2 p.m. to 11 P.M.
We would also appreciate your cooperation in providing us with the
necessary permit for the installation of 30 booths in the fairgrounds,
including the approval of the -Zoning Board for this purpose.
As you are aware, the purpose of the "Feria de los Municipios" is to.
expose the folklore, traditions and culture of our motherland, while
striving to maintain the strong family ties that are valued so high,
and to promote a warmer and a closer relationship with other ethnic
groups of our community.
For the 1988 event and with the cooperation of Marsans International
and Eastern Airlines, we have been able to obtain substantial discounts
1 on airfare and hotel accommodations for those members of the Municipios
de Cuba en el Exilio residing in other cities of the United States and
in other countries and willing to attend the "feria". This achievement,
_ by itself, is an indication of the success we all expect.
As in the past, we sincerely appreciate the dedicated assistance of
the City Commission and the City Manager's Office. We take this oppor-
tunity to extend to all of you the most cordial invitation to the offi-
cial inauguration of the "6th Fair of the Cuban Municipalities", at
7.30 p.m., on Thursday, April 7,,,1988.
Respecfully you s,

Dear Mayor and City Commissioners:
As we mentioned on a previous letter dated December 3, 1987,
the 6th National Fair of the Cuban Municipalities in Exile
is scheduled to take place from April 7 to the loth, at the
Flagler Dog Track grounds in Miami.
On our previous letter we requested your approval for the use
of such premises and the authorization for the installation
of the booths that we would need in the fairgrounds. On this
occasion, with all our respect we would like you to consider
assisting us with the financial aid necessary to cover expen-
ses such as police and firemen protection as well as the re-
quired permits that have to be paid including zoning, police
and fire permits. The total amount needed to cover these ex-
penses is ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) .
Thanking you in advance for your kind consideration to this
matter,
Sincerely,
CUBAN MUNICIPALITIES FAIR CORP.
