RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO ADJUST AND CLOSE
CERTAIN REVENUE AND EXPENDITURE ACCOUNTS
IN THE LIBRARIES FUND AS OF DECEMBER 31,
1971; AND TRANSFER THE BALANCES IN SUCH AC-
COUNTS TO THE GENERAL FUND WITH ALL OTHER
ACCOUNTS TO BE CLOSED AT THE END OF THE
FISCAL YEAR AND WITH THOSE BALANCES TO BE
TRANSFERRED AT SEPTEMBER 30, 1972; AND
FURTHER AUTHORIZING A CONTRIBUTION FROM
THE GENERAL FUND TO THE LIGHTING CITY FUND
OF $15,000 TO PROVIDE FUNDS FOR ADDITIONAL
STREET LIGHTING FOR THE BALANCE OF THE
FISCAL YEAR.
WHEREAS, the function of the operation of the City
of Miami Library System was transferred to Metropolitan Dade
County effective November 15, 1971; and
WHEREAS, certain accrued revenues and expenditures have
been recorded in the Accounts of the Libraries Fund on the
financial records of the City of Miami; and
WHEREAS, the General Fund has advanced $169,000 to the
Libraries Fund and such amount is now needed by the General
Fund;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the Director of Finance is hereby
authorized and directed to adjust and close certain revenue
and expenditure accounts in the Libraries Fund as of December 31,
1971 and transfer the balances in such accounts to the General
Fund with all other accounts to be closed at the end of the
fiscal year and with those balances to be transferred at
September 30, 1972.
Section 2. That the sum of $15,000 is hereby authorized
and directed to be contributed from the General Fund to the
Lighting City Fund to provide funds for additional street
lighting for the balance of the fiscal year.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of May, 1972.
