A RESOLUTION AWARDING THE BIDS RECEIVED MAY 3, 1972
OF HUGHES SUPPLY, INC. AND PRE -CAST SPECIALTIES, INC.
FOR FURNISHING PRE -STRESSED CONCRETE POLES AS REQUIRED
FOR THE PERIOD MAY 1, 1972 THRU NOVEMBER 30, 1972 AT
THE UNIT PRICES LISTED HEREIN,. SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY
OF FUNDS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE PURCHASE
ORDERS AS REQUIRED AFTER FIRST HAVING DETERMINED THAT
FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE
WHEREAS, bids were received May 3, 1972, by the City
Manager and City Clerk for furnishing pre -stressed concrete
electric poles, as required,. for the period May 1, 1972 through
November 30, 1972; and
WHEREAS, the supplying of said poles is advisable 'due
to the present lower cost and is necessary to expedite the
availability of poles for use in street light conversions
authorized by City Commission Resolution No. 72-62 (4/6/72),
parkimprovements to Moore and Manor Parks authorized by City
Commission Resolution 72-7 (4/6/72), and other projects pending; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager reports that the bids of

Hughes Supply, Inc. for Items 1, 3 and 4, and the bid of Pre -Cast
Specialities, Inc. for Items
and recommends that purchase
NOW, THEREFORE, BE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA
2 and 5 are the lowest bids (acceptable)
orders be issued to said companies.
IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE .

Section 1. That the bid of Hughes Supply, Inc. received
May 3, 1972 for furnishing pre -stressed concrete electric poles'
under Items 1, 3 and 4, shown below as required at the listed
prices for the period May 1, 1972 through November 30, 1972, subject
to the availability of funds be, and the same is hereby, accepted
and that the bid of Pre -Cast Specialities, Inc. received May 3, 1972
for furnishing pre -stressed concrete electric poles as required for
Items 2 and 5, at the prices shown below, for the period May 1, 1972
through November 30, 1972, subject to the availability of funds be,

Section 2. That the City Manager be,,and he is hereby,
authorized to issue purchase orders for each City project as,
required, to the proper company listed in Section 1 hereof, after
having first determined that funds are available.
