MAYHALL, SUR- VIVING FATHER OF JOHN MAYHALL, A DECEASED MINOR, AND HIS ATTORNEYS, THE SUM OF $100,000 AS THE PORTION TO BE PAID BY THE CITY OF MIAMI IN FULL AND COMPLETE SATIS- FACTION OF A JUDGMENT ENTERED IN THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF FLORIDA, IN FAVOR OF EDMUND G. MAYHALL AND AGAINST THE CITY OF MIAMI. WHEREAS, in the caset:of Edmund G. Mayhall, surviving father of John Mayhall, a deceased minor, Plaintiff, versus the City of Miami, Florida, a municipal corporation, and Arthur L. Dragon, Defendants, a judgment was entered in favor of the Plaintiff and against the Defendants in the amount of $252,237.60 by the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami has a policy of insurance which covers the amount of this judgment in excess of $100,000; and WHEREAS, the portion therefore owed by the City in this judgment is in the amount of $100,000; and WHEREAS, the insurance carrier for the City of Miami has urged that the judgment be satisfied to effect a saving on interest and has agreed to pay the portion owed by the insurance carrier on the judgment; and WHEREAS, it is advantageous for the City of Miami to pay its portion owed on the judgment to effect a savings and to avoid the running of interest; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: INDEX SO 1r Nue- MAY 1972 ;C.::ti:u11UN REMARKS: �� �A Section 1. The Director of Finance of the City of Miami be, and he is hereby directed to pay to Edmund G. Mayhall, surviving father of John Mayhall, a deceased minor, and his attorneys, the sum of $100,000 in order that the judgment entered in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida in favor of Edmund G.
