A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF
FINANCE TO PAY TO JAMES WILLIE THOMAS AND
CLARA BELL THOMAS, HIS WIFE, WITHOUT THE
ADMISSION OF LIABILITY, THE SUM OF $930.00
IN FULL AND COMPLETE SETTLEMENT OF ALL CLAIMS
AND DEMANDS AGAINST THE CITY OF MIAMI, UPON
THE EXECUTION OF A RELEASE RELEASING THE CITY
OF MIAMI FROM ALL CLAIMS AND DEMANDS.
WHEREAS, CLARA BELL THOMAS AND JAMES WILLIE THOMAS
filed a claim against the City of Miami for damage incurred in
the amount of $930.00 when CLARA BELL THOMAS stepped in a hole
in a City walkway located at the South side of N.W. 22nd Street
between N.W. 2nd and 3rd Avenues, on April 13, 1971; and
WHEREAS, this claim has been investigated by the office
of the City Attorney and said office recommends that this claim
be settled for the sum of $930.00;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the Director of Finance be and he
is hereby authorized to pay to CLARA BELL THOMAS AND JAMES WILLIE
THOMAS, without the admission of liability, the sum of $930.00
in full and complete settlement of all claims and demands against
the City of Miami, upon the execution of a release releasing
the City of Miami from all claims and demands.
