RESOLUTION NO. 2I ���
A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO
JACK R. RICE, JR. FOR HIS UNSTINTING AND
LOYAL SERVICE DURING HIS MORE THAN THIRTY
(30) YEARS OF EMPLOYMENT WITH THE CITY OF
' MIAMI AND ORDERING AN APPROPRIATE CERTI-
FICATE EXPRESSING SUCH SENTIMENT TO BE
PREPARED AND PRESENTED TO HIM.
•
WHEREAS, JACK R. RICE, JR., on November 1, 1941,
as a police officer, began a thirty (30) year career of
dedicated service to the City of Miami; and
WHEREAS, after having served his country in the
United States Coast Guard during World War II, JACK R. RICE, JR.
earned a law degree from The University of Miami and was ad-
mitted to the Bar of The State of Florida while a member of
the Police Department of The City of Miami; and
WHEREAS, after attaining the rank of Sergeant and
then Lieutenant of Police, Jack R. Rice, Jr. joined The
City of Miami Law Department in 1956; and
WHEREAS, Jack R. Rice, Jr. served in the said Law
Department as Assistant City Attorney, Acting City Attorney,
City Attorney and Assistant to the Department Head; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Commission
to'express its gratitude to JACK R. RICE, JR. for his long
and outstanding service to the City of Miami in the Poliice
Department and the Law Department;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:

its people the Commission of the City of Miami hereby
extends to JACK R. RICE, JR. this expression of appre-
ciation for his unstinting and loyal service during his
more than thirty (30) years of employment with the City
of Miami and hereby orders that an appropriate Certificate
expressing such sentiment be prepared and presented to
JACK R. RICE, JR.
